Elise Kitchen Co.
Empowerment Concept.

To whom it may concern:
Dear Sir,

Please find :
The concept and business model.

Kitchen Co. is an existing ongoing food outlet situated in Grove City Office Park in Orange Grove\Houghton currently owned by Micheal Dos Santos who is involved with JB Rivers in Sandton.
Due to Michael’s other commitments he finds that does not have the time to run this business to its full potential. He has however developed the existing concept, menu, and has trained staff through his other companies.

Elise Wohlman has taken over the day to day running of the business with the purpose of financing and purchasing the business.
Elise was involved in a canteen outlet catering to FLB (Forbes Lever Baker) Accountancy tuition centre in Randburg for four years which was bought by Advtech and later moved premises causing it to close.
This was a highly successful operation from 2010 to end 2013.

January 2016 was our first month doing due diligence and working at Kitchen Co. and by the first week in February we have introduced a new menu and food preparation and food purchasing changes for fresh food and disposables and also methods to improve  delivery mechanism and a very important empowerment and employment concept.
Turnover for February is already heading towards R50 000.00 which is will be approximately  a  20% increase in sales.

The cost of the business is R150 000.00 which includes the equipment and point of sale computer.

Turnover and Costs of sales excluding food costs:
The Turnover before our inception was approximately R40 000.00 per month and the overheads excluding food purchases are:

Staff and Overheads.
Pule                       R2200.00 Griller and food preparation
Sammy                 R2000.00 Cleaner
Felicity                  R3000.00 Manager
Thoko                   R1600.00 Deliveries

Rent                      R6000.00
Electricity             R2700.00
Gas                        R2000.00
Total                      R19500.00

The Challenges and the changes :

Cutting of costs and overheads:
Energy costs have been more controlled by insuring gas and electrical appliance are only used when necessary. The energy costs are reduced by careful food preparation reducing cooking time and creating a cooler, not so hot environment in the Kitchen.
The purchasing of fresh food and packaging has also been changed in order to ensure freshness and cost effectiveness to the business.

Empowerment Concept:

Elise Kitchen Co. has created a new self empowerment concept for economically disadvantaged people to have work and enjoy  a daily income to support themselves and their families and to restore dignity.
Two staff members, Felicity and Thoko have become part of the new empowerment model introduced into the running of Kithen Co. These two dedicated sales people will run a micro business based on the main operation.
The staff members will be working on their own benefit and risk, giving them better incentive to market the business.
We plan to have at least 10 outside representatives marketing and selling prepared food to people in their work places in the near future say 2 within the next two months.

Each sales person will have an exclusive area where he/she will market and sell in the office park and outside areas in the Johannesburg surrounds. There is potential to expand further at a later point.

The new menu is based on fresh signature sandwiches and salads for office workers and extends to school lunch packs and tourist lunch packs.

The business is also involved in outside catering and preparation of platters for functions and a
Full Traditional Braai and Lamb on the Spit service which includes salads and dessert, cutlery and crockery for corporate and for private parties and functions.

We hope that this proposal for funding meets with your approval and that we can establish a good working relationship with you so that we may all enjoy the fruits of this venture.

Regards
Gary Wohlman
